Advertising and Sponsorship Sales Manager
We’re seeking a full-time Advertising and Sponsorship Sales Manager to focus on securing advertising and sponsorship revenues for our publications and events. This position will be based in San Francisco and will be responsible for prospecting, identifying opportunities, building new business relationships, and generating revenue for the Burrill Media Group products. This includes book sales, advertising inserts and sponsorships for its publications and conferences. Focused on growing existing accounts and acquiring new clients, this position will be primarily placing outbound sales calls (to include cold-calls), conducting face-to-face meetings, making sales presentations, and prospecting. This position requires a successful sales track record, B2B and relationship sales experience. You will join a dynamic group of seasoned professionals to build the business and move it to the next level.
Venture Capital Intern
Interns provide support to the Venture Group for the evaluation of life sciences opportunities under consideration for investment. Using a variety of scientific, financial, and business skills, interns maintain new and ongoing deal logs, read and present business plans to the partnership, attend entrepreneurial pitches, assist with due diligence, and develop financial models. Interns may also be asked to perform special projects for Burrill portfolio companies and could have exposure to term sheets, negotiations and documentation of new or follow-on financings for the portfolio. Candidates are required to have at least a bachelors or greater in Biological Sciences with a strong preference for individuals pursuing or have completed a M.D. or Ph.D. degree or are currently pursuing an M.B.A. at a top university. Financial experience in the Biotech industry knowledge is an asset. Entrepreneurial skills are a plus. Strong understanding of science and the biotechnology industry with some experience in financial settings is also required.
